Lunch stop and trip to the deep south

Krystal's Wifi
Entering a quick post from the road while stopping on I-65 in southern Alabama (Greenville) a trip down memory lane … Krystals and Rolaids. I suspect that only one reader will understand this entry, nevertheless I’m including a cellphone photo to see if the site is still working. (I’ve been in Crestview Florida visiting with another Sonex experimental airplane builder and picking up a few more components for my project)

Hello Rich – the Krystal burgers are looking pretty good. We don’t have them here in Nevada but we do have In N Out which makes an awesome burger.

The reason I’m posting is I’ve enjoyed the auto stuff you post. Do you ever read Autoblog? They have a lot of articles I think you mihg tbe interested in. Here is one of my favorite posts, about the Citroen C4 diesel hybrid that gets over 50 mpg, a very cool project, too bad it’s not likely to ever make it here to the states:

I’m not a crazy Krystals fan — we don’t have them in Ohio either — but we do have White Castle. I have some fond road-trip memories and also recall an 70′s ballad song that references Krystals — you’ll either remember it or you won’t. Knowing about the song might give away your age, or if you are younger … your concert going experiences — are you a parrothead?
    :-D
As for Autoblog and AutoblogGreen … I do read them by RSS feed and occasionally include blurps here and over at CinciTDI.com referencing their posts. Thanks.

I was tempted to stop at Krystals when I was in Alabama a few weeks ago, but my head was smarter then my stomach and eyes. I guess I can say smarter then yours too ;)
I definately have many road-trip memories about White Castles from my younger days.

Back in town … whew … fast trip. I miss my TDI fuel economy, although I did average a 22.8 MPG in an AWD Honda Pilot on unleaded regular gas???
